Cubs update (September 2024)

1st Winchcombe Cubs pack has now restarted!

If you are interested in becoming a member of our new Cubs team please get in touch. We can offer full support and training as well as the option to volunteer on a flexible basis.

Cubs is aimed at ages 8 – 10.5 years and offers the chance to develop new skills and soar to great heights. Being part of the Scouting family can be as rewarding for you as it is for them.

Welcome to 1st Winchcombe

1st Winchcombe Scouts is a busy Scout Group with a long history, providing young people with opportunities to be part of the Scout movement, take part in a wide range of activities, make friends and develop skills to support you into the future.

We first started in 1908, and today the Group is home to a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop with a growing membership of some 60 young people and adult helpers.

Meeting times

Beavers (ages 6 – 8)
Wednesdays, 6:15pm – 7:15pm @ Winchcombe Scout HQ

Cubs (ages 8 -10½)
Mondays, 6.00pm – 7:15pm @ Winchcombe Scout HQ

Scouts (ages 10½ – 14)
Thursdays, 7:00pm – 9:00pm @ Winchcombe Scout HQ

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
